How is this screen? Has anyone bought it and wished they had got the glossy instead? Is the screen reasonably bright and sharp? Debating between it and the 1440x900 gloss screen I have on order on a 1520, but I still have time to change. I want to use the laptop for some photo editing.

I ordered a 1520 with a glossy screen because of the vibrant colors, but when i got it all the reflections really bugged me!

Does anti-glare truly block out reflections?

Yes, to the point where they become unnoticeable

A Dell Chat Rep told me anti-glare screens are to protect your eyes from the sun. You know, spending all that time at the beach on your laptop can really do damage to your eyes.

I personally ordered the anti-glare after making a similar poll on IRC.

My friend has a dell 1520 with anti-glare screen. From what i'm seeing, you can still see a lot of reflection.

don't trust the rep. I doubt the anti-glare screen is UV tested, wear a sunglasses in case there is some reflective particles that bounce UV back to you.

Anti-glare is noticably better in terms on reflection and glare, I have glossy on 1420 and 1405, matte (anti-glare) on all other notebooks of mine including the D620.
