    Hey, I'm gonna be heading to college and I'm looking for a laptop. I've done quite a bit of research these days, and my interest has gone to the Dell Outlet online. Does anyone have experience with it and the products? I'm looking at the XPS M1530; and I'm fine with refurbished stuff, but I really don't want any physical damages. But anyway, just in general, how is the quality of the products?

    Thanks.

    Dell outlet is superb.... their refurb systems are actually pretty decent, has warranty and you can return if you dont like, or have replacement if there are scratches(if u dont buy the scratchn dent options)

    Got mine from dell outlet about 3weeks ago. Shipped very quickly. Only problems were some glue on lid from what looks like scotch tape (easily came off), no soft case (but it didnt state that there would be one in the invoice before I ordered), and some dead pixels on the screen. Called and told them 8-10 dead pixels and the next day someone replaced the screen. You can read my specs below. I got a good deal, saved hundreds, so I can live without soft case. If you aren't satisfied you can always send it back just like a brand new one.

    Overall the best deals are to be had at the Outlet Store. You have three choices at the store.

    -> New
    -> Certified Refurbished
    -> Scratch and Dent

    From top to bottom on the list is the quality and condition of the products. All carry the same warranty as any new Dell product purchased from the website. many have purchased certified refurbed including myself and it's really hard to tell that it's refurbed other than the refurbished sticker on the bottom of the machine and they might require a litle cleaning. Other than that it's hard to tell new from used.

    Buying from Dell's Outlet Store is very safe and you have 21 days in which to return the product for a full refund.

    I ordered a scratch/dent XPS M1730 in my sig + Complete Care from Dell Outlet. I was also able to get all the physically damaged components replaced under warranty. Total price was around $3000, but wow, what a deal, and the system looks totally new asside from the green refurb sticker at the bottom.

    Hey,
    The outlet is pretty good....A friend of mine gets his notebooks from there, and has not had any problems (luckily) ;)

    One time he had a shipping situation.... ;) Which was handled accordingly and straightened out! :cool:

    So, I say go for it...if you can get that great deal!!!! :)

    Cin' ;) :)

    I got an Inspiron 1520 and a 1521 for my girlfriend. Both looked and acted brand spankin new when I got them. My 1520 still looks brand new. Ive since modified it to my liking. More ram, different OS's, added on devices. You got the same amount of fun for almost a good percentage off, you cant beat that.

    You can't go wrong with the Dell Outlet. I've gotten three computers from it, they have been great.
