I've been debating the purchase of a new laptop and have been thinking about the e1505 (along with some others) however I have been reading alot of posts about the e1405 and the problems some people are having with the screens. Are the screens on the e1505 and e1405 similar (other than 14in vs 15in)? Have any of you had problems with your e1505 screens and how happy are you with it?

    Thanks!

my screen is perfect for me.
e1505, and I was too worried after reading about the light leaks, dead pixels, etc.

I see no light leaks on my new notebook, and i ran some program (its somewhere on this site) that lets you see if you have any dead pixels. I could not even see one dead pixel.

Thing is, if you are worried about the e1505 screen, be more worried about the e1405 screen.

    Perfect 1505 screen.

Only SOME light leakage. (Meaning its whiteish on a BLACK background) on the bottom center.. however.. once loaded up.. normally you have color there so no more issues.

    No dead pixel either! =D

I do have the light leakage on the lower part of the screen but it doesn't bother me 'cause mostly have have bright things on screen. I can only see it when starting up/shutting down.
    No dead pixels found.
And I love my 1680X1050 resolution...

When I used to have E1505 (I've returned it), it had WSXGA+ UltraSharp screen. Compared to the E1405 WXGA+ that I have right now, the screen on E1505 was much better than E1405, although E1505 had one dead pixel. :(

The resolution of 1680 x 1050 is very nice. You can have two IE screens side by side. :)

Here's a couple of pictures I took of my 6400. The screen is crisp and clear with no light leaks. My picture-taking skills could improve a bit though.

I just recieved a scratch and dent 1505, its weird, I dont always have light leakage, when I first got it, I noticed a good bit at the bottom on a black screen, this was plugged in at full brightness, another occasion, plugged in at full brightness, I didnt see any,and its shown up again after that, when its there its not a problem, black text on a black background never really worked for me, so I try to avoid that
