I ordered my laptop on Friday the 16th and it moved through pre-production, kitting, building, and testing on Saturday, but has been sitting at boxing since then. The estimated date for shipping isn't till the 28th. Will it really take another 9 days for them to get it into a box, on a truck, and out the door? I sure hope not, I'm really not good with waiting. Also, they shipped my free Netgear router (if anyone wants it, feel free to buy it from me!) via DHL out of Waco, TX on Friday, and it got here today (estimated arrival date was tomorrow). Is that any clue as to the manner (DHL) and the speed (fast) that my laptop will be shipped?

It normally takes 3 days for boxing and Dell usually exaggerates the shipping date by alot. My estimated ship date was June 6th and I had the laptop a few days before.
-
3 days for boxing? **** - I would have thought that'd be the quickest step. Is there any reason for that long delay?
-
Yup, I agree. It will be about 2-3 days in the boxing phase. I believe it is the time when they actually ship it to the US from Malaysia. I think mine was also shipped 3-4 days before the scheduled date. I know how you feel though
-
It's funny how Dell does exaggerate the ship dates. I think mine took 6 days from order to doorstep, when the estimated ship dates was about 2.5 weeks. I think my boxing took 2 days. Be patient, it will get to you soon enough.
-
Does that include Sundays? I'm trying to get this all planned (it's what I do - I set myself up for dissapointment when it doesn't come the quickest possible...whoops). Like I said, it went into boxing Saturday afternoon. So has it been shipping Sat, Sun, and today meaning it could possibly be done tomorrow?

Alright, an update! I just checked again (probably the 10th time today) and my status has been updated to:
Status: In Transit to Local Carrier
Your tracking number will be provided when your shipment arrives at the carrier's regional center. This can take 48-72 hours. Please check back to obtain your tracking number through this tool.
Does that usually take 48-72 hours? What were your experiences? C'mon computer, make it this week! Ugh, I'm so bad at waiting, can you tell? -
It should take under 24 hours, if not under 12.
-
Dont worry, once you get it, you will just appreciate it more
-
one day longer than you want it to...

So, how long did it actually take?
-
My boxing only took about a day or two. It went through production very quickly. Since I live in Kentucky, I'm not far from the Nashville Dell or the Louisville, KY UPS. I'm expecting my order today or tomorrow, and I ordered it last Tuesday.
-
I think it all depends on how fast the plane fills up. Luckily mine took roughly 2 day for boxing. I ordered E1505 on wed night and it's arriving tomorrow.
-
It went into boxing on a Saturday or Sunday, then I was told it shipped on Monday with an estimated delivery date of Thursday, and it actually arrived at my door Wednesday afternoon.
-
I ordered mine on June 16th and got it today.
-
I ordered my laptop 3 days ago on june 23. It was shipped out june 26 and is on time delivery for june 27!! I hope I get it tomrrow. It took all 3 days for boxing for me everything else was done the same day. Coming from Nashville, TN to Scranton, PA overnight on ground. Let's see if they make it!
-
Blegh, I ordered mine on the 21st, shipped on the 26th, the estimated delivery was originally the 5th of July (!!!), but UPS already has it, its in transit but just got rescheduled delivery date from tomorrow to the day after
-
Well, at least its still a week ahead of schedule!
-
Ordered mine last Wednesday, UPS has it right now. Sucks that I'm at work and nobody is home to receive it. Hope that I can pick it up at UPS tonight, or get a late delivery time!
