    How long does Dell take to ship Vostro laptop? Anyone have any expirence?

    Depends on the system and if things are out of stock. I know the battery problem has delayed a lot of XPS notebooks, but I am unsure if they had any battery shortages on the Vostro. Should get it within 2 - 3 weeks after the order is placed. My XPS took 5 weeks.

    My Vostro 1310 is delayed over 1 month, expected delivery 12 of August =(
    Ordered 24 of June in Europe. According to dell cust service there are no batteries availible until August, neither 4, 6, or 9 cell.

    What does 3-5 day shipping mean then? I find it stupid that it has this option and next day, and they dont complete it. Im going to phone up Dell tommorow seeing as its the 6th day and Im going to ask about my order (its still "In Production")

    You have got to be kidding me. I ordered mine on the 8th on July.

    Im sorry but that is unacceptable. Did you complain to a manager or someone in the higher rankings? Over a month is unacceptable.

    If this is my case, I will ask to speak to someone in higher rankings and file a complain against Dell.

    3 - 5 day shipping is just the time it is in transit by the carrier. So, a month for pre-production, kitting, build, testing, and boxing, and three to five days to get to your door once it gets to Nashville from Malaysia.

    Complaining will get you free upgraded shipping and sometimes a small credit toward a future purchase. The reps you will speak to will lie to get you off the phone, get 'disconnected', and etc. Some people do get their systems in only a few weeks. The Vostros seem to ship a bit quicker than the XPS...but ti depends on supply, demand, and etc. Good luck.

    Mine was built in 10 business days in then shipped in two business days. So a total of 12 business days.

    I've asked for compensation twice but no acceptence. They onlysay that I can cancel my order if I want to. I't a bit weard that they decided to build the laptop eaven though there were no batteries, it's been in prep. for delivery for several weeks now.

    Is there anyone in europe here that has received ther Vorstro laptop in the last few weeks?
