    How long does it normally take to get the system?

    Hey guys I ordered a Vostro 1500 on saturday and of course I cant wait till it is here. How long did you guys have to wait till you received your laptops?

    The Vostro's typically come pretty quick, because it's a business item - typically they are shipped within 3-5 business days :)

    It completely depends on your configs. The most common ones ship pretty quick. I've gotten two replacement systems from dell in a matter of one week each (new system built not just a refurb)

    I ordered my Vostro 1400 on 08/09 Thursday and received it exactly one week later. Awesome!

    My Inspiron 1420 took about 3 weeks. Of course, mine was plagued with color delays. The Vostro shouldn't have that problem.

    vostro ships out fairly quick. unlike the new 1420 1520/21 1720/21
    even spare parts just had their spare parts activated this week

    are you serious about vostro been shiped that quick? i ordered mine 8/14 and the est date is 9/10. my configureration is quite normal, c2d T7100, 2g ram, 8400m gs, 120gb 5400rpm hd

    After I built it, the website said est ship date was 8/28...but the confirmation email said it is 8/23. If I would have known it was gonna be this quick I wouldn't have spent the extra $30 on overnight shipping! :(

    I was quite surprised myself. With all this talk of torturous dell-ays, I was bracing myself for a long wait. Original shipping date was 8/27 with EDD of 8/30. My order status changed to 'Shipped' yesterday (8/19) with a new EDD of 8/22. According to DHL, the li'l beast is currently on its way from Nashville, TN.

    I believe the webcam option is the major reason for the delay. I ordered a Vostro 1400 without webcam on 8/13. It finished production on 8/16 and it will be in my office later today (8/20). Exactly one week from ordering.
