I searched and couldn't find something similar. If you know a thread that has the answer, please point me to it.

I have the 1420. It used to take about 45 secs or so to go to sleep in Vista. Then, I toook out the Hybrid sleep option. Now, it takes about 20 to 30 secs. However, some people mentioned that it took about 5 secs for Vista to go to sleep, but it is not the case for my Vista. My work laptop has XP and it takes about 5 secs for it to sleep.

What can I do to make Vista to sleep faster? The hard drive spins like crazy when it is trying to sleep. I thought taking out Hybrid sleep would not write all the stuff from RAM to hard drive.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I read that already, but I don't think it helps since I have the latest BIOS already. Am I missing some important steps in that thread?

    Thanks
