I orderd my XPS M1210 2 days ago and I've been looking at the status here
and there. And it's been in "Order Processing" since I placed the order.
The "Production Date" keeps moving up. I know this is normal.
But I'm just wondering how long it usually takes to get out of the "Order Processing" stage.
*EDIT*
So, I called Dell. She said it was "on hold". So she took the hold off and put a rush on it. She said it should be in production on tuesday and in Canadian borders by friday. and maybe 3-4 days after that to get here.
Lesson here: Calling helps.

If it's stuck at order processing, i think that it might mean your payment has not been cleared for some reason. For most people, just a few minutes after they order a system, they get past order processing (a checkmark appears next to it). Most people seem to get stuck at "pre-production" or "boxing" instead, which is pretty normal. If the estimated delivery date keeps moving up, you should call Dell and ask what's up.
-
Mine has been stuck for 5 days, and it's still in "Pre-production"
-
keep it in "Order Processing" is "Pending Availability of Parts". -
Mine stayed in the pre-production phase for over a week. Today it moved from the pre-production to the testing phase. My order was placed on 8/29 and has an estimated ship date of 9/13.
-
Dell states that ordering a Core 2 may delay your order. When I ordered a Dual Core it was through production inside 24 hours and boxed and sent in 48.
-
i ordered mine on the 4th and mine changed to "pre production" almost instantly and changed to "in production" like two days later....it hasnt moved since
-
But...I think it's worth it. -
whats a backorder?
-
-
this is a very common issue with dell, such a busy time of year for them
-
-
well if you are checking the status of your order online then it will be stuck at one spot for a long time...but if you call then they will tell you the right status.
my status online used to be "in production" up until the 5th of sept, and when i called them on sept 5th, they said it was shipped out on the 2nd. so the online one isnt accurate -
Thanks for the info. I'll call them first thing tomorrow to check. -

good...tahts the smart thing to do

I ordered my M1210 on the 5th Sept in the UK, It stayed at Pre-Production until the 7th and then moved to Production for half a day and today its at Delivery Preparation. They have estimated Delivery for the 13th if not sooner. I hope i get it on Monday 11th.
-
dang hows your ship date 5 days sooner than mine even though i ordered a day before
-
right now my status is at boxing. Has anyone experienced long delays at this stage? My production phase was completed all in one day but now it is stuck at boxing
-
My c2d in the UK was dispatched and going to be delivered on monday. I ordered on the 31st of August.

Thanks for the advice guys!
-
yes call dell and ask
-
if you call and ask, do you talk to a person or do you just like type in your order code and it tells you?
-
you talk to an actual person
-
Ooo... I will call about mine then too... cause it is at the boxing stage too!
-
i odered a E1705 on sept 1 and the have just updated my tracking to shipped status thismorning sept 9 .... so 8 days including a holiday !!!! cant wait till it here.

I ordered mine today, and it went from Order Processing to Pre-Production in a matter of hours. If only the rest of the steps would go that fast!
M1210, go7400, webcam, DVDRW, bluetooth, and a fat battery...I can't wait! -
I ordered my 9400 on the 15 sept...and my expected ship date is oct 23....I ordered a loaded machine as far as important options go...hopin it really doesn't take that long..anyways I been stuck on pre-production ever since I ordered....mindu its only been 4 days..

-
Ordered my 7200 core 2 on sept 9, was shipped on sept 14, arrived here on sept 18 via snail mail
-
I called to ask, and my rep said it was "probably still in testing"...I've got a checkmark next to "Testing"...does that mean it's IN testing, or DONE with testing? It's been there since Sunday, so I'm guessing it's really in "boxing" (the first stage without a checkmark).
This is killing me... -
That means is done testing and its in process of whatever the stage after that is, mine was at in production and then suddenly jumped to shipped after about 6 days. still in transit in us according to purolator
-
all i can say is wow
placed an order on the 17th, now theres a check mark next to build
i cant believe its done that fast -
I ordered 2 xps 1710 and its taking forever

I just ordered my e1505 today (9/23). It is supposed to be shipped 10/06.
I hope it gets moved up. Does anyone know if Dell works on the Weekends. -
I'm sure you've heard that they tend to over-estimate the ship delay. My original ship estimate was 9/25, which is when it will actually be delivered (unless UPS delays it again). It was shipped the 20th, 5 days after I ordered it, and 5 days ahead of their estimate. -
ordered my 640m with T7200 10 days back ... its still in preproduction ....
-
Does everyone recieve a tracking number right after boxing is finished?
One minute, you still waiting for boxing to be finished, then a few hours later you check back and you have a tracking number ready?
Is that how it works, or is there any more waiting on Dell after it finishes boxing?
**** I'm hating this boxing.
How long does it take to get out of the "Order Processing" stage?
