I just purchased my E1505, but i know that the new Merom processor isn't to far away. I would like to buy another E1505 once they update the model with a new GPU, do you think they will release it with a new GPU at the same time they put the new Core 2 in it? What time frame are we talking?

There is no telling what dell will do... But I would think the GPU options would stay the same. Perhaps something like the 7400 go might be an option in the future, but its like the same power as the X1400. Dell has never pushed fast GPU's in smaller notebooks... If a 15.4" XPS ever comes out though, I would expect something along the lines of an X1600 or 7600.

Appreciate the advice, but i would probably go for an Asus if i was looking for a small lappy with a good gaming GPU.

Given that ATI has yet to release its 80nm GPUs on the desktop, it will probably be even longer after they are released to make it to the laptop (unless they are released at the same time, which is unlikely). When ATI does release 80nm GPUs, you may see the current Mobility Radeon X1300 and X1400 options be upgraded to the X1450 and X1350 respectively. However, the performance gains will be marginal at best. ATI is moving to an 80nm process because it is simply cheaper.
I have not heard anything about Nvidia's plans - they aren't saying anything about 80nm GPUs, so *if* there is going to be an upgraded video card in the E1505/E1705, then it will be from ATI.

Do not get your hopes up though - I don't want to give anyone false hopes. If you want an E1505, buy it when you need it. There is no way to predict what Dell will do, if anything concerning this issue. You can't ask this question and expect a straight answer, so consider this topic closed.
