How long will 7-14 Business days actually take?

Ordered an open box system from dfsdirect.ca on the evening of Jan 5th (friday). Their FAQ states

Am I really going to be waiting that long for this order. It was shipped ground from Toronto and I live in Vancouver. I'm too impatient to wait that long

 

The 7-14 days is before the order is shipped. You say that the order has been shipped, so it should not be so long to wait. What is the shipping arrangement (ie next day / 48 hours, etc..)?

Wha wha whaaat??? I just placed the order... you're saying I have to wait for them to ship it and then I have to wait for it to arrive. Why does it take so long??

Does anyone know why it takes so long? The computer is already built so they should be able to ship right away...

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

 

It doesnt take that long, in the US, I've ordered several, they always say it will be about two weeks, and I always get it in 2 to 5 days, what shipping method did you choose? All of my orders shipped the same day except for one that I placed the friday before a holiday weekend, that shipped out the following tuesday, the message is generic,and its the same one you get when your oder new and the unit has to be built, just be paitient, (easier said than done I know) it should be there soon

 

Does this mean they will commence shipping. (ei. It will be shipped at that point in time),

or

Shipping will be completed. (ei. It will be fully shipped from us to you within that time)?

 

Don't worry about it. Of every Dell system I've ever ordered, they all arrived earlier than their estimated arrival date.

I even had one show up 36 hours after I placed the order.

 

thats means when they will ship it out, but that doesnt apply to you as I posted earlier,thats the same message you will get for a build to order machine, for me the outlet systems shipped out that day or at most the next buisiness day, like I said try not to worry about it, it wont make it come any faster, and it will just make you nuts obsessing over it

 

I hate waiting... Why can't they teleport it to me?

I just got word from dfs sales... they told me my machine will be shipped out on Jan15th. I told them I need it for a business trip on Thursday. They said there is nothing they can do. Hopefully they will fast track it a bit!

Not a huge deal... I made up the part about the business trip... I do need it before I can start working at my new office though.
