I called in and they said that they had another delay on lcd screens. Thats why there is a 9/5 shippign date delay.

I was told that they are waiting on a shippment which would come in on the 31st and then they can finish building the ordered laptops. Then they told me that they are working weekends but they were unsure about labour day monday and that I should expect my laptop by the 7th of September. I find that hard to believe they have had over a month and a half to build mine and I doubt i'll ever see it.

It sucks they wont let you change the bezel color without cancelling and reordering the whole machine and basically start all over again

Well now this is the fhird time for my delay ordered 7/29, estimated ship date 8/15, then 8/28 and now 9/3. This is absolutely absurd. I cannot find a better one on the market for the price with Dell, and we should be compensated for our wait. I still don't believe 9/3. I will believe it when I see it in my hands.

I checked this morning and i was delayed to 9/5 then i checked again just now and i'm delayed until 9/24. Two delays in one day, i'll cal tomorrow they better have something good for me if i have to wait another motnh.

I received the email this morning stating they had changed my ship date to 09/05. Surprise, surprise, surprise... Any ways I was out shopping later in the evening and got a call from a Dell CSR. They informed me that my ship date had changed. I said I know it was changed to 09/05, “which is ridiculous”. She said no your ship date is 09/10. I informed them that I had received a email that said my ship date was 09/05 along with calling customer support and them to informing me it was 09/05. This is getting a bit out of hand. I ordered my pc on 07/14, 1st ESD 08/01, 2nd ESD 08/21, 3rd ESD 08/28, 4th ESD 09/05, 5th ESD 09/10. Come on Dell get with the program here. You’re a fortune 500 company and you service right now is pathetic. One thing that is really scaring me is how well my warranty will be covered if anything happens to this so called laptop. I’m on the hunt for a different laptop now.

Mine was DELL_AYED until 9/5. Thing is those f'ers called me on 8/27 and assured me that it would ship on or before 8/28. I am so pissed off.

I'm convinced that Dell just randomly makes these dates up. I am purchasing by financing and decided to change financing methods so I made another order. Although this order was EXACTLY the same, Dell gave me a shipping date one week earlier. To add more insult to it, I made this second order almost a week after the first. I just don't know what to think now!

Called today (8-29) and CS said 4 ESD is now 9-10 due to screen supplier problems! Order date: 7-28-07
Emailed CONSENT (duh) cause darn thing is bday gift (will be over month late) for daughter who of course wanted the Spring Green color.... -
Just out of curiosity checked on ESD of notebook stand and case also ordered 7-28-07 for Spring Green Inspiron 1520..... NEW ESD on these is: 10-23-07.
ESD on 1520 is 9-10-07??????? On phone to CS now.... how can the accessories be delayed? 8-28-07 DELL..ay notice said 9-5-07 ESD! UGH!!! -
Ordered a 1520 for a friend on 7/25 and I got the second delay notice of 9/5 yesterday (original delayed ESD was 8/28). Sufficed to say, that order is now permanently *canceled* both on my recommendation and my friend's decision. Best of luck to everyone else still waiting.

I was getting excited, I must say, I threw caution to the wind when I called and heard her say it was in boxing!!!! and yelled for joy! Well, silly ole me, but I decided to call again a few hours later and see if maybe it shipped. It is now back in its state of perpetual PRE production. How can that be? Was it too big for the box? lol. Crazy, crazy, crazy.

I was not a member of this forum till about 3 minutes ago. The email I received from Dell is partially hilarious and partially disturbing. Please read the reply from Dell and read the very first sentence in my email to them. My original order date was 7/26/07. Delayed till 8/14/07 then 8/28. The specs seemed good for the price but after this email, I do not think it is a color issue at all.
I think they are trying to decipher just what "remove top of paint can first," really means.
Dell engineers> "Does it mean we remove the top or leave the top on?" "Let's call the supplier again!!!"

Wow, I just checked my order and it shows it SHIPPED as of 09/01 and it was delivered to the hub in my area today 09/02 at 9:43pm. This sux though as its Laborday weekend and I won't be getting it for another day or so. Anyone think it will deliver on Monday?
