Just wondering how many people ordered a M1330 and had to return it due to problems with the notebook. From what I hear things are a lot worse with the Inspiron line but I want to get an idea of how bad things are with the M1330 in terms of return rates.

There was some warping of the plastic on the lid. I was going to return it but Dell offered me a discount to keep it. Since the warped plastic didn't affect the actual functionality of the laptop, I took the discount.

Maybe you need an option for how many people requested a replacement. That would be alot of us! Even with small defects, this is Dell's best laptop at the moment. It's an amazing notebook.

I returned mine to Dell Korea couple days ago and will receive a full refund (after some tongue lashing). Hopefully I get the money soon, or I've to pick up the phone again and continue my verbal onslaught.

The problems I had were CPU whine (when the notebook was still working) and sudden and completely unexplainable death of the machine. Even the Dell technician couldn't revive the patient. Furthermore, the other battery diagnosed itself in need of a replacement after few weeks of use (5 leds lit on the battery).

Dell offered me identical replacement unit, but since they couldn't guarantee the delivery date, I had to demand refund. I really liked my unit until it died, but won't be buying another Dell for a while. Hope you guys have better experience than I did, thou.

Mine is being replaced. Recieved it on 5/9 after ordering on 4/7. I have Dead Pixel, Dent in Palm Rest and a Scratch on the keyboard (End Key).

Kept my XPS even though it is not the right spec as it would take to long to get it replaced. I can live with not having an LED screen and 802.11n card.

Build quality seems fine though. (Not tried it on a flat surface yet as it sits mostly on the arm of my sofa or on my lap)

Build problems with keyboard and palmrest being uneven, contacted Dell and took the discount. Put some slack in the screws and problems solved :)

You want to be careful with that 'fix', releasing the seal between components also has the downside of allowing dust and grit into the heart of the computer. It could also affect the structural integrity of the whole unit... especially in the event of droppage.

I think the keyboard by its very nature lets in dust. Wouldn't suggest you do it anywhere like the screen though.

hello, i received my 1330 last week. something that i have noticed, the fan is constantly on at either the medium speed or full out blasting...even when doing normal things like web browsing or emailing. this is very annoying. is this normal? I am to the point that I would like to return it. How would I go about doing this?
