I'm sure this isn't a very helpful thread but just wondering how many of you would, if given the option by dell, to pay $30 for a live cam to be installed on the dell factory and have you track exactly where your order is at this moment?
-
Hell...NO!
-
I'm already delayed. I ain't gonna pay to find out where I'm at in the delay, cuz it's not gonna get here any quicker.
-
I'm not a very patient person, so I figure, I'd rather know where my lappy sits as of now then not know anything at all. That's just my opinion though.
-
we're all looking for the best deals. we're cheap
-
Can you imagine if you just had to sit there and watch your order sit on a technician's bench for like 4 days? -

Very off the topic, but for those of you interested, there is meteor showers tonight for those who like watching scenery
I'm gonna head off to one of the vistas around my local to watch the meteor showers...

I think being able to see what's actually happening with my laptop would be somewhat annoying. I know I wouldn't stray too far from my computer for fear of missing something happening with it. And not really knowing what's happening makes it that much more exciting when it finally arrives at my front door.

that's too far. i have to go to work in the morning lol.
-
WTF? Hahahahahaha, this thread is messed up.
-
I would complain about the delay and get 100 bucks and then bribe the CSR...

I'd moan about the delay, get the $100 credit, and then pay $100 to get it right away.
-
just called dell, my order is still in kitting... WTF...

Most of the "work" that happens to your laptop happens very quickly. The reason you're waiting is just because they don't have the parts. Once they do, they get packed up and sent off to be put together and unless you watched it constantly you would miss all of the action. The actual build process is quick as is the software download/imaging. The test/burn in may take a while but again you'd just be sitting and watching nothing happen.
Basically a cam would be pretty useless unless you were watching it at the exact moment your lappy started down the conveyor belt. Blink and you'd miss it.
How many of you would...
