I got my 2nd and it's still a defective one, I'll email my technician to ask for another replacement.
I've heard some people have 3.

Never had to replace my Dell.
You might want to enlighten us as to why your notebook needs to be replaced so consistently. Some people are really picky, while others have a genuine problem. -
same here never had a defective dell -
if you think about it, dont they test it BEFOR they ship it to u

Going on my 2nd,i need to pray alot

Mine's holding up great! Well mostly, I'm going to request a new keyboard someday in the nearish future. The up button doesn't work so well in gaming, but I haven't had time to game in ages, so it hasn't affected me. But I'll get around to it sooner or later.

I've never had to replace my notebook, however, going through two or more replacement notebooks is quite excessive. Hopefully your next one will come defect free.

imo buying a refurbished dell seems like dell tests it more for tests than if you bought it new. But that is my opinion

just got my second replacement. Still not the right parts... gonna ask for third. For some reason, they just cant get that video card in my m1210...

For what reasons???

Hi,
I have my notebook (m1210) for 8 days. My hd have bad sector and my DVD drive work in 1x or doesnt work at all.
Should I ask for a replacement or get a refund then reorder?
These story of bad replacement frighten me -
My first Dell X1 overheated so much that the bottom rubber feet fell off. My second Dell X1 had a bad motherboard. A techy came to fix it and replaced it with a worse motherboard. I managed to get it to work barely for word processing and my third will come tomorrow. Lets hope that works lol.
On the plus side Dell gave me a 30gb hard drive first time, 60gb second and this one will be 80gb and I get to keep the 60gb. -

i got my e1405 from outlet. it looks like its never been tested because i didnt want to get into windows os at all ! it says all systems are tested and like new! well , dont tell me that , i think they just ship the reffurbished products to somebody else to deal with it.
there was another post about many replacements. somebody said that they keep sending you notebooks with problems ( scratches, dead pixel or smthg else) untill you calm down , got bored and decide that its not that bad and you can live with it ! -
I'm looking forward to a 3rd replacement after the email i received . " WIll another replacement resolve this issue" the technician asked me. -
In the future I would not email them because they will not be as giving. Since they dont talk to you, they are not able to sense as much that your very angry. Plus if your on the phone they feel that they have to get off the phone asap if your angry. If you email them they have all the time they want. Basically, calling will probably ensure more gift card money then emailing them.

I got my first Inspiron 9400/E1705 from Dell Outlet, had a few problems.
Dell replaced the DVD drive, battery, AC adapter, motherboard. System then worked fine, and I sold it.
Bought another with the better screen and 7900GS.
All outlet systems are supposedly put through rigorous tests before resale?
Mine arrived OK, until I rang support on a warranty query, and the support rep, thinking I was the original first purchaser, 'mentioned' that I'd previously had an issue with damage to the chassis.
I had the thing turned over already on my lap so as to be able to read out the service tag to him, so when he let this slip I gave it a close inspection, and sure enough there was damage under the card reader slot - enough so that a card couln't be inserted. http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3871&stc=1&d=1160004715

Eventually, after getting a card inserted, I found that the card reader didn't function. There was damage both to the chassis and presumably the motherboard.
I am now awaiting a replacement system, which is supposed to arrive on 20/10/06Attached Files:

I hate Dell Latin America because their TIMES.
My M1210 one month after shipped, started problems, the ac-adapter is not charging the battery and no power is arriving to the M1210.
The technician said that need to replace the motherboard. OK no problem until here.
But. He said me that the replacement motherboard arrives in 2 at 3 weeks!!!
Because this.. I am going to think 2 times before buying again nor recommend Dell here en South America.

PD: Sorry my english -

THat's good to hear and it's insane " 6 D810s".
UPDATED: Dell agreed to replace for me another system and no more exchanges. I hope it better comes with LG screen. (Hopefully those LG screens are still in stock.)
