How many times per day do you check your Dell Order Status?

I ordered my M1530 on 7/24 with ESD 8/12, so at this point I'm checking it 10-20 times per day...to no avail haha...

Anyone else as anxious as me for his/her Dell?

I used to check about 2-3 times a day, one in the morning one at night. Since my laptop has been delayed, I DESPISE hearing the words "one moment please...we have some important information...get a pen and write this down...your product is in production and is currently...in the BUILD stage".

Hearing "build stage" is the equivalent to sticking rusty nails in my ears.

I know for a fact that my laptop will not be shipped out on the 12th.

I've been checking 2-3 times a day. Still in pre-production. Wierd thing is that when I ordered my existing inspiron 2 years ago it stayed in pre-production until well after I'd recieved the laptop.

LOL...when I was waiting for mine to be completed back in January...I checked at least 4 times almost each day... :p

I checked both online and by phone! I really couldn't help myself..I spent so much time *procrastinating* on ordering my lappy...That when I finally did..I was in complete *anxious* stage to receive it!

    Cin ;) :)

Yeah, I checked just about every two hours online and called in about every 3 hours. The excitement and anticipation is very very great. In the end it was all worth it. I loved it when I called in one time and heard Build Stage, and call in five minutes after and hear them say its in the Testing Stage.

This makes me think that Dell occasionally(ha) doesn't update their order info. promptly, even though the were prompt with your inspiron. Let's hope that their updates on order status are accurate these days.

On minutely positive note, my S17's case shipped within a day of the order

My esd is 8/18/08, but I'll keep some hope for a "shipped" update a few days earlier. ;)

The phone status is almost always more up to date than the online status. Just FYI.

Really, I may call it sometime. Is that 800 no. automated or do I actually speak to a human?

BTW, what do the hand signals mean in your av? XD

It is automated but it gives a more detailed order status.

Such as In Production - Build or In Production - Testing, In Production - Boxing.

    Sounds good.

I ended up calling it for the first time and it was straightforward. I of course got the response that it was in "build stage" :D Anyway, I'll be making regular calls there for the next 5 days :p

Just don't call TOO much. Hearing "build stage" is one of the worst things your ears can hear.

When you call the 1800 number, do you speak to a robot, or an actual person?

Well, lets see, I just order my new XPS 1730 on Aug 8th which was Sat, around 11:30 at night lol. So then I checked yesterday, around 2:30pm and it was already in the process of getting built. So ever since, i've been check. I just can't wait, since i'm using this 3 year old Sempron computer. POS. But it's better then the Acer 5680 I had lol.

if you guys thought build was bad, i had to hear testing over an almost 17 hour period, after having the knowledge that testing only usually takes about 3-4 hours.

I guess they must have found a problem with my laptop like 5 times and sent it back to the builder or whoever to get it fixed...

A lot. It's embarrasing. For the past two days I've been hearing build stage, but I won't start freaking out until it's been in build stage for 2 weeks. I even speak to a Dell Csr every day,but they always tell me the same thing.Hopefully, I'll hear "testing" soon!!

Man oh man, I'm praying that mine isn't delayed! I think my chances are good because I didn't chose any option that was listed as a possible delay. I also just ordered the standard keyboard. I've read that the backlit one can cause delays.

Good luck to all of you on your orders.

It's on build stage at the moment. T_T
