This is on a Vostro 1500
I priced it out on dell.ca and it came to $1479. I'm going to order it through a kiosk(so i can put it on my debit card) and am wondering if i can expect to get a better deal. If someone had the EXACT(or close) system and ended up paying considerably less, i might be able to use their order number and pressure the sales person to match, or at least lower the price more. Something tells me the americans here would be able to get the same machine for at least $300 less, what with all the great coupons that are only offered to them.

$1479 is a decent price for that laptop in Canada. My 1520 cost me $1539 for almost the identical laptop (you have one higher processor, and bluetooth, I have WSXGA+) but that was right after they came out.

Where are you finding Dell Kiosks in Canada? I wasn't aware that we had them.

Not an easy side by side compare, but mine was $1400 (specs in sig)... With the rise of the CAD it looks expensive to me...

I also have the 3 year at home + complete care warranty...

You should point out that only people from Canada would be relevant for this comparison. Theres no point of comparing with US prices.

I think there is... If the US price is cheaper it might be beneficial (depending on his distance from the US border) to rent a mailbox from a company specializing in courier allowed mailboxes and buying in the US... After all, the US dollar is worth less than the CAD as my wife loves to remind me...

Well obviously, US prices will be cheaper but thats if the OP is willing to go through the hassle to get a better deal and "rent a mailbox".
My point is, in an economic sense there is no point of comparing due to different markets and price differentiation. It would make much more sense if he compared with other people in the same country and to see whether he is getting a better deal. And yes, CAD is stronger but I really doubt Dell Canada's prices would reflect the dollar.

Btw, my post above was directed to the OP not you.

Dell coupons baby. I got my 1420 for under a grand.
