Mine gets pretty warm on the left side. Its not hot but warm enough to feel the heat. Right side is fine. Anybody experiencing this ?
Btw I am plugged in to AC power and running bios version A06. Any connections ? Any solutions ?

I can only assume you mean under the palm rest. Your HD is under the left side of the palm rest and will therefore get hotter than the right side.
Normal operation. -

anything to do with A06 ? -
It's a powerful machine in a small package. It will generate some heat, and it's normal.

If I remember correctly, the CPU, heatsink, and fan are all on the left side too.
If you're really that concerned, check the actual temp of your CPU/GPU and compare it with others. -

and THEN you stop using your computer on your lap and instead use it on a hard surface that allows free flow of air and isn't sitting on a heat-retaining-surface like your lap.

i notice you are running the bios a06 - can you tell us if the fan is running continuously or otherwise?

Heatsink Rev.00 - Uses a Sunon fan.
Heatsink Rev.01 - Uses a Forcecon fan.

But the fact is that I have the second HSF (your "A01" HSF) and another member, Jaycee, has the first solution - BUT, it's also labeled "A01": talk about utterly confusing...
I would have thought that the A06 BIOS revision was the cause of the extra "RPM" but seeing as you had that BIOS on both units, it could be the different fans. You can't select a fan's RPM, you can only select the percentage of voltage to supply it with, so two fans supplied with the same voltage can none the less produce different sounds.
I don't suppose you got the chance to compare the temps (using nTune, RivaTuner, 18kfanGUI, etc.) between the two? -
Yeah mine gets a lot warmer than I like, and this is with a SSD!
Temp is idling around 40 degrees Celsius--at least that's what my battery app is telling me. I really wanted a Penryn just to kill this temp thing. -
A CORE temp of 40C is fine. Actually, the best figure I ever saw mine hit was 36C w/22C ambient (and it was really idle - not even a browser window open). The minute you wiggle the mouse, that 36 turns into a 40, so same difference.
Hell, I was strolling around Granada (Spain) in 44C, so if I can live with such temps, so can your CPU(s) -
You are right, 40 degrees is not bad at all for the T7500, but I could feel it instinctively being hotter than it was being reported. Turns out that TMT's battery app is not giving updated temp readings, not sure if it is the app or the hardware. When I rebooted, the temp jumped to about 60 degrees.
I still think it is hotter than it should be. -
P.S. Booting a PC is very intensive and right after booting & loading the OS as well as a number of TSR apps, the CPUs will definately be quiet a bit hotter then @idle.
Oh, and btw, I was in transit in Dubai on the way to Australia last year - talk about the largest Duty-Free shopping center I've ever seen... (almost bought a Sony VAIO there, lol)
