How much will the M1330's price approximately decrease by Feb 2007? June 2007?

Based on your experience buying Dell laptops, do you have any idea as to how much Dell reduces the price of a new laptop after a certain period of time? I'm wondering if it's worth buying it in February 2008 (just in time for the 2nd semester at the university) or in June 2008 (2nd year). If the price decrease won't be significant between Feb and June, then I might as well get it in Feb.

I believe the m1330's price will not decrease by too much since the new penryn processors will be out in January. Dell will be likely to add in the choice of the new penryn processors in feburary or march, so i guess there is a possiblity that the price will go up because of the new processors? That's just a guess tho.

The price won't go down much by June, but it'll be likely replaced by a newer model by then due to the release of Montevina.

Speaking about new processor releases, is it Dell's habit to provide the option for the new processor in not so new laptops, or are they more likely to unveil a new series of laptops with the new processors?

The price will probably stay about the same, within $100-200, but the specs you can get at the same price will change. For instance before Vista came out 2 GB of RAM would have been a costly upgrade (I know Dell marks up the price, but even buying from Newegg it still was a lot more than it is now), but now 2 GB of RAM is becoming the standard amount. So while the price won't change the specs will. The LCD screen will become a cheap upgrade, 2 GB will be a minimum, New CPUs will make the old ones cheap, Bigger HDD for lees, etc.

Dell won't make a new laptop for the new CPUs, when the new platform comes out they will.

If only I can see what the new model would look like. I'll be friggin' disappointed if Dell releases one just a few months after I get an M1330! For now, I'll wait till February and see what happens then.. Thanks guys!

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but I just noticed today that the LED display upgrade is now only +$150 rather than +$300 which I think is a much more palatable price point for that upgraded option.
