So after returning my vostro and getting credit back for it i got the credit memo which breaks down the individual parts of the laptop and how much it actually costs. im sorta suprised on some. ex: vista busniness = 65 bucks (no wonder thats all they wanted to refund to me), the 8400gs is only 19.99!, 9 cell battery 26.55, but the manditory 1 year warrenty 169! i wonder if you can get away with out getting that....anyone know?

i would guess: CPU T5470:$40, motherboard:$30, LCD$50, base shell: $20, Dell 1390:$5 in addition to listed RAM, HD price. the rest is profit :)

I'm sure you could get similar prices if you bought mobos and CPUs in quantities of 10000 and more :D

Actually those prices look right. Look at the HD and RAM, those prices are spot on for current market prices.
Also, the 8400 GS chip itself probably doesnt cost nVidia much more to make than Intel integrated, so I'm not surprised its so cheap.
