    How often do you call the Order Status number?

    Hehe, I'm just curious how many times you badger that poor automated voice. I only ordered a few days ago, but I'm so eager to get my laptop. Every time I call, I'm in the boxing stage.

    I call like once every 3 hours or so.

    LOL @ OP's poll, good one! I even called a few times on Sunday, how sick is that? And I just ordered on Friday!! BTW Right Said Fred, be glad you got to the boxing stage so quickly, that's pretty damn impressive around here.

    well, the topic starter ordered on the 2nd, and moved to boxing on the 3rd. I still have hope that mine will get out of the build stage, but from many other stories, i'm a bit caught up in the fact that i won't get it by september and i'll be in bad shape when school actually begins

    ^^^ Yeah, but I'm quite sure that OP's experience is an anomaly. Most of the rest of us are in your shoes and are looking at a long delay.

    Ya, I think I got lucky. I upgraded everything because I figured it would be more likely that they would have the expensive parts in stock. I don't mind paying more so it worked out nicely. Now it if would just ship out so I can have it before my business trip on Fri, that would be great!

    I'm not aware if Canada has a number to call or not, but I do ask the CSR's on the chat service almost daily.

    I've never called that number like I have with this latest laptop order. After staying in the build stage for about a week, I figured something was going on. That's how I found this forum. Now that I see all the delays, I'm calling that number many times/day. I keep hoping to hear something other than "Build"!

    Well I memorized my 9 digit order number and half of the 13 digit cus ID..If that gives you a clue to how much I would call.Still In Build Stage

    I usually check like 2-3 times a day. I had to call an extra time today to make sure that it was testing stage i heard instead of the usual build stage.

    I've been calling twice a day lately. Today I've already called twice because today is my ESD.

    On an ominous note, there HAS been a small change in the online status. They don't give me an estimated ship date at all as of today. It just goes straight to "do you want me to repeat".

    I've never been in anything but build stage.

    Does anyone know Dell's actual production hours? Is it a 9-5 type of thing or do they go more than that?

    never, here in Germany they don't have this automated status inquiry... But I look to the web page every 5 minutes...

    ive called about 2-3 times a day and sometimes more if the status changed and i wanted to make sure it wasnt my mind playing tricks on me. now that it shipped i only call lucy to ask her how its going and to apologise for only using her to find out about my order.

    Is there a different between checking status via phone and checking status via the website? I've only ever used the website to check the status of my order.

    I think the website only shows 'In Production' and 'Shipped'. The phone actually informs you on the current stages such as build, kitting, boxing etc

    Im so glad they dont have that in canada, otherwise I would be hooked. But the purilator and dell website have now become my drug of choice.

    If you are outside of USA then your SOL for hearing that lady. Otherwise I think it would be on the dell.com website and under order status or somewhere, what do I know, im from Canada.

    I called quite frequently, at least 5 times a day when my order first went into build stage which was 7/23. Now I dont call so much, maybe once every other day or so because its so discouraging to hear the word BUILD.
