How often does Dell release coupons for $600 or more off? I am really looking for one of their $750 ones ideally. Do they usually release a big one like that here before Christmas or do they usually wait till after the new year or what?

Kinda want a new laptop soon so, hoping within the next month to get one at the latest.

I've been watching Dell's discount codes for a couple of years. Not that I check every single day, but I don't remember seeing any for more than about $450. The current $425-off is about as good as it gets (IMHO).

About a year ago this time Dell had a $750 off $1999 or more notebooks...I'm not kidding. But the coupon expired quickly (Dell brought it back a few times), but after they started posing no-so-nice financial results at the end of the year that was the end of the really good coupons.

Lenovo has a nice offer in terms of coupons. I managed to get 900$ off a X61s. Dell also had something like 75% off the price this Autumn (in Canada).

yeah i remember that 750 off deal...that was a good one. but the only problem with those are they jack up the prices so its really essentially the same deal as before, it just seems better. Its like jewel when they have things 25% off...well they often raise the price 20% or so...

I don't have a problem with that because with all the warranties and add on stuff I want the laptop is close to 2k anyway.
