Was going to buy a M140 a week or two when they were offering a free upgrade from the 1.73 processor to the 1.86, but got side tracked by a HP laptop that I ended up returning. I know dell runs the coupon codes pretty much constantly, but never really remember seeing the processor upgrade, how often do they run them?

Id say about once a month or so..they usually go on a rotation(when I worked there) of the following:
    free printer upgrade/rebates
mail in rebates or instant $150 off, etc(current promotion)
    Processor/memory upgrade
    OS or software upgrade

Seems like there another promotion Im missing but generally it worked out to be about once a month. I havent worked there in a while but it seems to still be a fairly consistent rotation.

Well, I see they're running free dvd/rw upgrades now, so if they run the processor upgrade again, I'm guessing the drive upgrade won't apply anymore?

You are correct...they usually offer the RAM/Burner upgrade together. But the CPU is more costly so they tend to run it by itself.
