I might have a flaw on my system after all. :(
We are having a problem with our heating system at office and it's kind of chilly here (like mpper 40s). I am sitting here with jackets on trying to keep myself warm as possible, but I can't help but to notice the fan on my M1530 turns on every 2-3 minutes. I am not doing something that is intensive, just surfing and email. It seems like the fan turns on every 2-3 minutes and shuts off after 20-30 seconds of high spins. First I thought it was becauuse my home was too warm because my parents staying over for few weeks. But I don't think warmth of my house have anything to do with these short intervals of fans spinning high. I am little concerned, should I be concerned? First the clicking Hard Drive and now the fan.
Can anybody tell me, how often fan turns on your system??

Its because both the 8600GT and the Core 2 chip are on the same single heat pipe cooling system. Undervolt you cpu, and keep it at its low setting while surfing the net.

I don't have 8600GT in my system. And like I said I am not doing anything other then running couple of Open Office documents, Windows Mail and surfing few pages. My Percision M90 didn't do this when I first got it, it did after several months of uses.

That's what happens when I don't have a driver installed.

Try to update your driver, or just reinstall your old one.

Is it really the drivers? I think it's a Vista issue. I've turned off the Aero and the fan hasn't turned on once yet. I wonder how long the fan is going to last if I let it turn on and off every minute? This is one more reason I should UPGRADE to Windows XP sooner. Somebody tell Bill at MS to hurry up and patch this crappy beta OS.

The fans go on when the temp of the gpu reaches 69c.

Does your computer get hot ? If so there is justification.

Otherwise, I use a program called I8kfanGUI to control the fans operation. You might heard of it, but download at you own risk.

I know about i8kfangui and I know the fan turn on when the system gets hot. It still sucks running the OS that is still in beta stage. I feel like running Linux all over again. I am here trying to tweaking stuff, in order to run my system smooth and cooler. I should've been installed Win Xp already, but just want to check out my system before I swap the OS. I ran a Vista beta before (Release Candidate), but I am so f'n disappointed because it seems like M$ has done nothing to make this crappy OS better. What the hell is M$ trying to do to my system? Killing it within one year? If things doesn't change I'll never able to switch to Vista ever.

Anyway if your fans run in constant bases turn your Aero off. Because if you don't the fan is eventually going to die and most likely your system too.

The fans go on more often with aero because earo uses the gpu more. It has nothing to do with a crappy os.

Will getting a M1530 with a T7700 vs a T7500 make the fan turn on more?
