Have just received a "New" Inspiron 17R 5720.

However, when I look at the Windows Update Install History it shows a number of installations/updates dated 5th Oct 2012?

Would this be normal or is it a sign that it may be one that has been sent back for repair?

    Can anybody advise?

You should be able to go to dells website and enter the "Service Tag" and find out the build date, warranty, original specs. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the reply.

Can you advise where you specifically will find/access the build date details?

The day the warranty started is a good clue. Dell does not reset those for anything

    Thanks.

In the end after talking to Dell the unit is to be returned for a refund as there were some other out of the box problems.
