With all the delays, noisy headphone jacks, grainy screens, etc, I am curious what the general satisfaction level is with Dell and their willingness to help. This is my first time ever dealing with Dell. Note that I am not necessarily asking how satisfied you are with your computer itself, but with the entire experience with Dell (eg if you had a grainy screen, were they helpful getting it fixed?)

i havent recieved my laptop yet, plus so far is good price, negatives is twat sales rep and terrible customer service in the terms that there is no direct line and they are foriegn which makes it hard when your already frustrated to both communicate your problem and to understand them. I have however recieved compensation for the twaty sales rep.

Im very satisfied, I think the majority of unsatisfied individuals are the ones who get their laptops during the busiest times of the year........support will suck, and they are prone to more mistakes during the setup of systems due to the onslaught of orders.......

I ordered a inspiron 1501 around the end of january 2007, I was satisfied with everything and still am

I ordered originally waaaay back in mid july, but i cancelled 3 times due to them changing the prices online. I made my most recent cancellation yesterday and reordered. Originally i was paying £822 for an inferior laptop, then £870 for a much better laptop, then £810 for the same, and now £710 for the same.

Im cut between getting a good deal and them varying their prices so frickin much. Also i think their online pricing is total garbage! The customization is there to take advantage of people, the 3 starting notebooks you usually get (same notebook slightly differing specs) are there to confuse and con the customer! Why the hell cant there be ONE vostro 1700 to choose from and ONE price for every item, instead its three to pick from and they all vary greatly in price even when specced the same. I got a decent deal i think, but its bull**** how they do that, ive brought it up before in another thread as well.

I can barely understand what some of the dell employees are saying its just.... whooosh... right over my head, im from the UK, i speak english, what the hell are you trying to speak? what did you just say?? Even when they repeat it they say the exact same blurb in the exact same way they did originally, the problem ain't my hearing its their god damn lousy english. Two of the three ive spoken to i have found hard to understand.

Dell is going down the tubes as soon as another company makes it as easy as dell does to customize the product you want.

Exactly, i can understand why they do it because its cheaper but especially when you ring up customer service, your normally doing it because your annoyed at something, than you wait 10 ins going thro all the options to get to a person than have to spend hours trying to communicate with them, to be honest i wouldnt be suprised if Dell did it just to annoy customers and make them give up complaining luckily i have stubborness in my blood.

I've always bought Dell products so when I needed to order a laptop for college I immediately ordered a Dell. So far so good. I got a good price on a system with everything I wanted and their school discount program is nice too. I had to cancel my first order because I decided a 17 inch laptop was too big. I called and had the order cancelled and reordered within 20 minutes. Granted, it's sometimes rather difficult to understand what they're saying, but I usually manage to make it out okay.

I ordered my Inspiron 1520 on 8/6 and my ESD is 9/5 so we'll see if they get it out as promised. So far I've had no delays or anything, but I know there's a possibility so I've been checking out HP's and Sony's in case Dell can't get me my laptop before I start college on 9/27.

From my personal experience I have not had any problems as of yet with Dell (crossing fingers). And I hope it stays that way. :D haha

Pretty satisfied. I wasn't totally satisfied because I had to wait over a month to get my laptop, but in the end I got it and I love it.
