I am gonna get a Vostro 1500 lappy, and I wanna to get some $ off or longer dell care order though phone.
I actually called dell today to try to bargain some, but all I can get is Vista Premium on it. My rep told me that there is no margin on the model or what so ever, so she gave me nothing but a quote. :(

the 1500 that I configured is:
    Core™ 2 Duo T7300
    Vista® Home Basic(which I will call and change to Premium :D )
    15.4 in Wide Screen SXGA+LCD Display w/TrueLife™
    1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 DIMM(too expensive on dell.com)
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8600M GT
    120G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini-card
    Web Camera
    6 & 9 cell battery
    base warranty

It comes out for $1,172 without tax
I want to bring it to about $1,100 with tax and 3 year warranty.

Do you think it is possible?

I have heard that the Ind rep is easier to give out stuff, during what time is their shift? 'cause I think I had a American rep.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Ha, the rep said there is no margin on the model? Now I know Dell is not doing well, but that is a blatant lie and bs like that makes me not want to bother with Dell ever again.

If you're spending over $1000, the Inpsiron 1520 may be cheaper if you configure the base model and apply the Dell coupons at the shopping cart page. It may depend on your spec, but you can try it.

    Thanks for your suggestion,
I have tried config 1520, but it comes out way more even with the $325 coupon...

well, I just tried it again,
    with the same config above
    1520 will cost me $1,242.00
    $70 more than the 1500,
unn, wondering which 1520 did you started configuring with,
I started with the basic one.
