I was wondering what most people here use/do to get rid of dust from their notebook screens. With my old Presario M2000, I would use a damp microfiber cleaning cloth, which worked fairly well, though most of the time I'd be left with some streaks, and have a good amount of dust clumped around the edges of the screen. Is there any better way of removing dust?

Yes...take a breath in, pucker your lips and exhale quickly.

If the process fails to work initially, repeat as necessary.

EDIT: lol You had to know that was coming...

I'm a fan of microfiber. Dry, or with a little water if needed ... I know you said you get streaks--careful use and drying should help reduce that.

Use a dry microfiber cloth to concentrate the dust and just blow it off with one of those compressed air type things.

I have a microfiber cloth I should be using, but mostly, I use my finger. And that's why my laptop screen is quite dirty.

You can buy a kit from a local computer store. I've seen one downtown in my area where they have a kit that sprays non damaging screen cleaning solution and I think provides me with a cloth to wipe it too the cost for me is around $10 CAD.

Clean it the way you would clean eyeglasses.
It doesn't take much moisture to gather the dust.
Breathe on the screen just enough to fog the glass, then polish it with the microfiber cloth.
And don't use a dusty cloth.

Pick up a Monster screen cleaning kit off eBay. If you get the kit made for TV's then it will come with a large microfiber cloth and a spray bottle of cleaning solution that works very well and will last you for a long time.

Thanks everyone for your help. At some point soon I'll either buy a cleaning kit or a microfiber cloth (since I believe I left my other microfiber cloths at home).
