No it is not possible to boot XP using MD button and at the same time boot Vista using the power button..... You can create a dual boot menu by pulling XP into Vista's boot options - that is how far you can go with getting both XP and Vista ;)

This is just a guess, it may or may not work. Since Media Direct is also an XP installation, you should be able to edit the boot.ini file of MediaDirect installation to load another XP installation on another drive.

Following instructions are based on MediaDirect 3.1 (because thats when i last played around with it), I don't think much has changed since then (I mean the underlying XP installation, not the UI).

First map MediaDirect drive to a drive letter using md3utils.exe found under Dellkit directory of the MD disk.
    Usage : md3utils.exe /mapmd3=x maps to x: drive.

Then edit the boot.ini file. Let us know if it works.
Change the value of X to point to the correct Xp partition.

    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(X)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Embedded" /fastdetect /KERNEL=NTOSBOOT.EXE /maxmem=256

If you are trying this also remove the /maxmem=256 parameter as it limits the maximum memory of the system to 256 mb..... This is done so in Mediadirect just to reduce the size of the hibernate file.... In MediaDirect it always does a Hibernate when you give Power off.....
