    eBay, Dell's website, just to name a few places.

    The price of the drive depends on the kind of drive, the computer, etc. :)

    First thing you need to know is it ide or sata.

    Second thing is it's probably cheaper to buy from an online vendor other than Dell.

    I just put a slot load blueray drive in my 1545 for under 70 shipped from ebay. Much cheaper than Dell :)

    Get your model and serial number from your laptop. Go to Dell's website and get as much information from them as possible. Are you still covered by any type of warranty? If not, buy your parts any place except Dell.
