I got my XPS with Samsung screen and it seems that grainy happen. So i requested for a replacement and the tech agreed on it.

so i was wondering is there a way to check on the new LCD panel before the tech start attempt to replace my current samsung. And what part number should i expect for a perfect screen for 15.4"(1280x800) on XPS m1530

Not sure on the part# but I'm sure a 1530 owner will post..

As for checking prior to tech visit - nope, there is no way unless XPS Support can check. When the waranty repair tech arrives, just ask, most of em are friendly and don't mind.

Once he brings the screen to your house, you can see the model number on the screen itself.

so the model number shud look like for example "SEC3350" like we see in our device manager->monitor->generic PnP monitor->properties-> details->hardware id-> SEC3350??? or it will be represent by other code?? if other code then i wont be able to understand it.. mine to give some details?

I don't think Dell differentiates between display brands as separate part numbers for specific models. If it's an M1530 display, that's the part, be it LGP, Samsung, etc. And, they will not give you a choice of display brand (unless maybe your tech is a nice guy who just happens to have another in his van). Good luck.

actually i dont mind wat brand it is as long as it give me wat i expected to be.. ofcoz a perfect screen for wat i've paid for. if the problem still persist even after replacement, then im sure i will call up again to bring up the issue.

When I had my M1330 screen replaced, there was a sticker on the replacement monitor screen that had the model number on it like I'd see in Device manager.
