Hey! Grat's on the impending arrival of your new lappy! :)

Here is a nice guide I found that might help you!

Guide to New Laptop Inspection...and Beyond!

When I received my 1530: *may not have been in exact order*
    • I carefully checked it over externally for any *cosmetic* defects, damages, etc.
    • I made sure all the external components were with my lappy that were ordered
    • I powered it on, attached the battery...made sure the brick/adapter were both were fine, etc..made sure the screen was in perfect working order..
    • Went to device manager to check my internal components that they matched up.
    • I did a Clean install & Vista Tweaking; Updated Drivers as necessary
    • Installed things like CCleaner; RevoU; Avira AV; SAS; etc..

I pulled the 1555 Drivers Linky separate, as I figured you would probably need that! :)

Great! I'm hopeful, you will find some of them useful! I was able to find them very helpful (and, still am)! :D

I attached the Win 7 subforum, and Dell Win7 Upgrade link, as I didn't know if you were planning on upgrading to Win7! ;)

Let me know if you need anything else!
