    Hi all

How do I use a service tag to check the owner of a Dell system??

Im interested in purchasing a cheap notebook, and have the service tag so I can check warranty status etc, but is there anywhere online where I can check current registered owner etc?

    Thanks

Not by automated process. If you fool around with support.dell.com you might run into the order number, then you can view the original purchasers information. Dell has mangled the support website and the option to look up that information is either gone or very well hidden. The only other way is likely to call or chat with Dell customer service.

Ah, Dell emailed me to confirm the owner has been changed to myself!
