How to extend dell warranty - Laptop purchased in Italy, right now living in Helsinki

Hi People,

So.. I got my laptop in Italy (2008) but now I'm living in Helsinki, Finland.

My warranty expires in about a month' time.. how can I extend it? I've tried to check on the Dell Italy website, but there is just a form for extension, which I've filled and submitted (and now I am waiting to hear from a "dell representative"). But is it just that? Or is there any way to extend the warranty?

I called up Dell - Finland customer support and they gave me a number of another Dell Employee whom I can contact for finding out how can I extend my warranty from here.. but I still have to talk with this person (tried calling, but no one answer' the phone).

I just thought I'll drop a message here to hear if there is any other way I can extend the warranty easily.

Thanks for the message.. I'll look into that. Edit: Well, my warranty expires in ~30 days.. so I guess I'd rather have my warranty extended directly than go through the process of transfer... also, it's be an international warranty anyways, isn't it?

I just managed to talk with people from Dell Italy, and they said they will get back to me with the details of whether I can extend my Warranty with Dell Italy or if I have to go through Dell Finland. Lets see...

 

I just got off the phone, with Dell Finland support and that guy asked me to send him the service tag, following which he will let me know how to extend my warranty and the cost of the extension.... Nice.

Btw, I just noticed that Dell Finland (along with Dell Italy, with whom I've dealt with a lot before) Customer Support are really nice, sweet, helpful and warm.

 

Just an update:

I can indeed extend my warranty from here, and Dell Finland has sent me the quote - same IT NBD warranty, 3 years extension..
