Hey all, well sadly when I repartitioned my NTFS part of my drive to give more space to ubuntu. After a scandisk changed the security indexes of my files. Windows started messing up.. no start menu, things not working right etc. Recovery did not work. So I figure perfect time to do one of the "clean" installs. Heh.

Anyways I have the E1505 with MCE2005. I dont mind reinstalling ubuntu since thats easy enough.

I was wondering how do I format the entire HD that would get rid of the hidden media direct partition. If thats even able... if that isnt able, should I just format the NTFS part of the partition and leave the linux one alone? (Like if someone says I shouldnt worry about redoing everything, just windows. )

Anyways figure before I start into anything, I may as well ask here and see whats advised. If I could get rid of Media Direct, I would I guess, since just gives me more HD space. So anyways thanks to anyone who could help.

When you get into the instalation, you can go into disk management. Delete ALL partitions available and make one big one. Then split that partition as you wish for linux and windows, and install windows on the first one, linux on the second.

Question is, with this media direct on the hidden partition. That protected area thing that you dont see on normal disk management ones. Would that still work?
