My new 700m goes into standby no problem just by closing the lid of pressing the standby keys. However I can't get it to come out of standby...normally, on my old Inspiron 5150, I would just open the lid or press the power button once and it would be back.

As a small note I reinstalled the OS from scratch to XP Pro. Is there a Dell utility to control coming out of standby?

    Thanks,
    Ken

I found the solution. The problem is solved by upgrading the BIOS to A02.
