    How to get Studio 1558 to stop underclocking itself?

    I know they underclock the CPU when it's not being used much but for christ's sake it makes everything slower. I don't WANT my CPU to only be 1200mhz to save power. I want the full 2400 mhz even when I'm just surfing the internet.
    Changing minimum power state in advanced power options does nothing

    have u tried throttlestop? not sure if it works on the i5 series tho. otherwise, i think theres a option to disable speedstep in bios or some intel program?

    correct me if im wrong
