I see people here and other places talking about their system being in diferent phases of the production status, such as kitting, build, testing etc. Well, when I called the status number and spoke with someone they told me that it is in production and that they had no other information. I am just wondering how it is some people know what stage their laptop is in? I would also like to know where it is being manufactured, I dislike having to speak to customer service reps from other countries, and I would be more upset to think that good productions jobs we could use in the us were being sent to india along with my calls.

Call 1-800-433-9014 and enter your order number. A recording will give you the status... build, boxing, etc.

I am in boxing stage right now, was in testing late last night when I got out of work. I have read very different times for the boxing stage. anything from hours to days, anyone know what it might be currently?

Should be shipped within 2 days would be my guess, it's a really randomly fluctuating kind of thing, wouldn't say there is any standard to it. In my experience with Dell it has never only been hours, been over 24 every time.

unfortunately pdonket you are correct. My laptop went into testing stage monday evening then the boxing stage sometime really late monday night like after midnight, so actually more like very early tuesday morning like 1 or 2 am est. and it is still in boxing stage. I don't get india, when I spoke to them they told me that boxing came before the build, so I explained that when I called the check up number it went kit, build, test, then boxing. The guy so "NO!!!" that is wrong I must have it wrong or the ivr is wrong because boxing is before building. The guy was pretty rude and said that it is scheduled to go out november 3rd and it would go out then so I would have to wait for more info. I was surprised how rude he was. As someone who has worked in call centers for quite some time I really do not appreciate that they do not have customer service in the usa. I just hope he is wrong and it ships today

that's funny. Unless they have Oompa-Loompa's inside the box putting them together while they are on the C130 coming over here, boxing does come after build!

If yours is in boxing, you'll have it soon.

you gotta love India. I wouldn't care that the guy is mistaken if he wasn't so indignant. well he was definitely wrong since it went from testing, to boxing, to shipped yesterday and I now have tracking info for it!!!!!!! Very happy!! The one thing that kills me is the cooling pad and travel adapter I bought with it shipped this morning and is already out for delivery. It ships from florida very near me, to bad same isn't true for laptop. I think that tiger direct may have these parts for them. Reason I say this is it is coming from the same exact ups place in florida that tiger direct ships from. I hope dhl is wrong on their delivery date and that comes today as well but I am pretty sure it will be here tomorrow like it says. Not bad considering I ordered it last friday.

I'm sorry but this is funny to me. It reminds me of when I was a child and was confused when my mom told me to put on my shoes and socks. I looked at her and said, "But Mom, I have to put on my socks THEN my shoes!"

Either way, I wish you luck!
