Hi, I'm interested in installing a hard drive since the deal came back for the Seagate 160GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive from Dell for Laptops.

What I'm worried about is how will I transfer all my data from my new laptop from the old 80G 5400 RPM Hard Drive to the new one if I order one?

I haven't received the laptop yet but I'd like to prepare for it. (It's a Dell Vostro 1400.)

I'm not worried about taking out the old hard drive and installing the one. I'm more worried about how I'll bring everything over properly from the hard drive that'll come with my laptop.

    Thanks for any information.

I am thinking of doing something similar to you, swapping out my old 60GB 4200rpm for a new 100GB+ 7200rpm. I have a external 60GB hdd to back all my stuff up, so thats what i'll be using i guess... :p
