I've got a dell studio 15 in which the top of the keyboard is so warped that it hits the screen when it's closed. You can see little scratches in the bottom section of the screen. The folks at dell want photographs but all I'm getting is reflection (glossy screen) or shots that don't show anything. Camera is 5 megapixel so I don't even know if it will to actually show the scratches. Macro view didn't even work. Any tips or suggestions? If I can't find any solutions I just might email Mr. Dell personally, can't afford to spend hours on the phone with tech support anymore.

Can you turn the flash off, then put the laptop in a really light area, taking the picture at an angle so you don't get your reflection in the picture.

Yeah, you can only make out 2 sets of scratches barely but that will have to do. Thank you for the suggestion.

Turn off your laptop and have to screen in a position where a lamp reflects in your screen on the scratches itself. Turn off flash and keep the camera REALLY still when taking the photo. The lamp will probably not reflect on the scratches itself but will reflect on the area around it.

That said, won't it be easier to make a photo with the lens/camera at the same level as the keyboard to show the warp itself instead of the damage it does?

Thanks. Picture wasn't the greatest of quality but I cc'd my email to a few of the Dell executives and received a phone call from Dell support in literally about 7 minutes after it was sent. They're sending a box to me and they'll replace the screen and keyboard.
