I know there must be a way to program areas of the touchpad on the Inspiron 8600, right? But I don't know how. I wiped the drive when I got the machine and installed fresh XP Pro, but I still have all the Dell CD's

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Rufus you use your finger on the tourch pad that's your mouse, 2 buttons below it is your left and right click. I have a Logitech wireless wheelman working using the 2.0 USB, disc putting your registration and a icon on your desktop. You don't have to use that stupid touchpad, you can plug any mouse in whether it be USB or S-
VHS. Wheelman came with both S-Video, USB, and adapter for S-Vhs beside the USB 2.0 flat stick that goes in the USB port.

Chaz: I've read several of your posts and you are very confusing. I don't understand what you're trying to say in a lot of your posts.

Rufus: I don't know about the 8600 but I know for the 600m and 9100 they come with software for the ALPS touchpad on the Dell Driver CD. Also the 1150 I believe has a Synaptics software which you can program your touchpad. They are located under gestures which you can make your touchpad become a scroll wheel and etc.
