    Hi everybody.

We all know the small capabilities of MediaDirect of our Dell notebooks and so i decided to use the button since i have it.

I've been thinking to make it start an application (i had Winamp in my mind) under Windows XP (which i am currently using).

Does someone have an idea where can i reconfigure the thing this button does or a tool that can give me options for customization?

I've formated the HDD completely when i got my Dell Inspiron 1520 (if it is needed i can add the specs) and so there is no MediaDirect partition so no chance for conflicts. :)

    Any ideas?

(i've tried looking inside winamp's settings but there only apply to an alredy started winamp, so... no good)

Thank you for every idea in advance

//edit --- sorry if there is another thread for this - i used search but no luck

I have a bookmark at home on how to edit the registry to change what the button does. I will post it when I get home.

Nice. I'd be nice if that works. I'm checking now the Dell CD i've got with the notebook (1 month and still haven't explored it... :) )

    Thank you for the link.
    I've found these three locations:

    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0
    HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0
    HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\MobilePC\HotStartButtons\0

but unfortunately i don't have MobilePC directory ... and when i search for a HotStartButtons - no results.

    Any other ideas?
