Ok so this is my 2nd laptop in 3 weeks from dell that has had major issues. The CD/DVD drive gets stuck, keys get stuck, the net pings slow, I have to restart every now and again, go to task manager for this and that, and I am just fed up.
I spent 5 hours last time (XPS 1535 ruby new) trying to get an RMA.
I am on dell financing and just received the unit saturday.
specs:
2.2 ghz T6600
4gig ram
256 meg ATI 3400
320 5400rpm
yada yada
I want to return it for a full credit to my account. No replacement units, no technical bull. This is the final and last time.
Any suggestions email me [email protected]

Ask them to start the return process. Once they have it returned to them, accordingly...a refund should be issued on your Dell DPA account.
Be sure to get a Case Number and get every *documented*

Actually, last time they credited my account. After much searching for a better deal, my girlfriend and I decided to give them another go. Not so much this time.
Last time we had to do the whole trouble shoot b.s. (it was a hardware issue all the way with the e-card), then they told me they would send me a part, I adamantly told them I do not have time to install the part nor do I want someone coming to my house- 7 hours now that I think about it!)
If they won't credit back my account, then I want a serious upgrade to a fully loaded, fully tested NEW system. No Sh*t this time. -
oh yeah this is my second ordering experience from dell- the first one was the one shipped back.

Just call them and tell them you want to return it. Am I missing something? I've done this at least 3 times in the past year.

Think I could talk them into turning it in for a *new* high end model for the troubles?! -
Each time I did it I got an RMA in half an hour. They won't upgrade your laptop, but they will probably offer you a few hundred to keep it.

So whats the best angle to go about getting to the right person, department, what to say on the phone, etc- there is a ping issue, the slot load cd, of course the speakers (everyone knows about those), sticky keys---
are they going to spend the time to actually check out the unit upon its return before they credit my account back, to make sure it "is broken enough"?
If they offer me a few hundred to keep it, ill do some math and sell it on ebay as is.
How to return my refurb 1537 w/o restocking??
