Right out of the box what is the easiest way to verify certain features of my Vostro 1400 (Vista Ultimate) are really there?

    ie

    - slightly upgraded LCD Panel ie 14.1 inch Wide Screen XGA +

    - wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal

    - the battery is the 9 cell

Now that I think of it is there a standard routine one should go through when first using a new laptop? eg install security software,...

    Thanks for the help

XGA+: For vista, right click and go to personalize and select display resolution, (one of the 5 options I believe) and make sure it's 1400x900

Not too sure about the bluetooth aside from using a bluetooth device with it or checking it in device manager (can be run from start menu as a search, just type device manager and press enter)

The 9 cell will stick out the back of your laptop past everything else.

all can be see in BIOS setting.

By the way, WXGA+ is 1440x900 not 1400x900.

Thanks for the replies. How does one confirm the FSB? I already checked in the BIOS under "Processor".

Get CPU-Z to find out the exact model of your procs and ram information.

If you actually want to know the functionality of devices like bluetooth or your USBs you'll need to actually test them.

Or I guess you can BIOS word that if it's installed it must be working.
