How will it measure up in the high end market?

I've ordered a Dell XPS M1710 notebook with the following specs:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7400 Processor (2.16GHz,667MHz,4MB L2 cache)

    2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024]

    160GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive

    512MB DDR3 nVidia® GeForce™ Go 7950 GTX graphics card

    Vista Installed

I want to know if this system will be able to play Crysis or Oblivion, or any other high end game :p I'm not sure if it has the power. Thanks in advance,

    Steve

You'll probably be able to play Crysis and Oblivion on medium settings or so...you'll also be missing out on Direct X 10 for Crysis.

    It'll do high on Oblivion. My desktop is a 2.2GHz AX2, 2GB, 256MB 7800GT and it'll do high settings at 1280x1024.

You would have been better off waiting for the XPS refreshes with 8800m (or at least I assume there will be refreshes), but if you needed a laptop right now you did OK.

Yeah meh-cd you have a good point but it will be way out of my budget when (if) the time comes.
