I was thinking about the nice brushed metal looking bezel on my m1530 and I just couldn't help but wonder how it will look after a year of my palms rubbing on it from typing. I am curious to know if eventually the bezel area will develop shiny worn areas, or just become more dulled in areas of constant skin contact. I have ordered a screen protector, if your interested it's called a shaggymac (It's not a film for the screen, but a nice thick cloth that's customizable and designed to cover your keyboard, it also doubles as a cleaning cloth.) because I don't want to have to worry about the keys rubbing into the screen when it's in its case, which i'm sure could be a rare happening, but you just never know... So with that said, does anyone have any idea as to any product that might work on the bezel, like a film of some sort. What i had thought bout was buying one of those films that you can put on a 15.4" laptop screen and just cutting it to fit around my bezel. I don't use my fingerprint scanner, so it's all good. Any feedback on this would be great... Am I being too overly protective of my new laptop? Also, in the past, i've owned several ThinkPads, and over time after the keyboard keys became worn I was able to just buy a new keyboard and replace the old one, as well as a new bezel. Is that possible with the XPS M1530?

I bought a Shaggymac to protect the screen when the laptop is in my briefcase. There doesn't seem to be much clearance between the keys and the screen. Also, as some have noted, there can be a slight rise to the keyboard in the center due to some cabling underneath. I don't want the keys leaving a mark on the LCD panel if the laptop is squeezed due to traveling.
I have seen some comments from Apple Macbook Pro owners about the aluminum palmrests becoming discolored over time due to some chemical reaction between sweat and the aluminum. I suppose the same could happen to the M1530 for some people. I'm not too concerned about that since it wouldn't affect the functionality of the system. -
cool Smoothieboy, appreciate that info, I guess i'm just concerned about it from an aesthetic point of view.
How will the Palmrest bezel hold up in terms of longterm use?
