How would I be able to get a DISCOUNTED or FREE Dellcare package?

LOVE this board. Lurking around for a few weeks and learned ALOT of valuable info from you guys, but I have one last question!

Ordered my 1520 on 11/7 est shipping 11/15.

Here are the specs and pricing:
    Alpine White
    T7500
    2gigs
    8600m gt
    1440x900 display
    dvd +/- rw drive
80 gig harddrive (will upgrade 10 160mb 7200rpm with free $150 gift card)
    intel nect gen wireless
    HD audio
    web cam
    Blue tooth
    $150 gift coupon
    $50 concession coupon

With $500 coupon $939+$78 tax+free shipping= $1017 total. Does that sound like a decent deal?

I'm only having second thoughts on getting the Dellcare package with accident coverage. This would add approximately $300 to the price! Almost a THIRD of the price of the laptop. To anyone that has added this option at a discounted price or even free...what do I need to say???

    Thanks,
    MAC

Dell warranty is worth it. You should know it by now if you read many threads here though.

    Just a tip:
Check with your homeowner/renter insurance company. Damage, loss, and theft should be covered. Also check your deductible. You should be able to add your laptop to your policy with a $0 deductible for a small premium.

I didn't think about homeowners insurance, but I hate to make a claim and have they raise my premiums! I also like the idea of not having to make a claime and just get a new laptop without a waiting period. Is there a limit to how many time I can exchange my laptop with dellcare?

If you take care then you don't need Dellcare!

See if you can get just the 3 year on-site warranty and skip the rest. At that price, I would not spend 1/3 the cost of the laptop on a warranty, but I would get 3 years, regardless, unless it's a $400-500 laptop.

I would recommend the DellCard package. Accidents happen and its better to be prepared just in case. The cost is a little steep, but the benefits could outweigh the initial cost.

Bottom line: Unless you are only going to be using the notebook in your own home, not eat/drink around it, and have no kids... get the 3 year package.
