I'm thinking about paying for the 3 Yr Limited Warranty with 3 Yr NBD Onsite Service and 3 Yr Tech Support for an E1505.
Anyone ever had experiences with it? Are the support techs really stingy about sending someone out to fix your laptop?

I'm considering buying a dell and the service is very important to me.

    Thanks

I just chatted with them yesterday about my bum dvd drive, service consisted of me chatting with one tech, she gave me steps to try and resolve my problem. When i got back to them and told them it didnt work they said they would send someone right over and replace my drive. Maybe its cause i'm under EPP but the service was excellent, no BS from dell and I never got angry.

My experiences have been good with the NBD warranty. I needed a new motherboard, and called Dell on a Wed. Told them what was happening, and they immediately put a troubleshoot call into 3rd party tech support. The tech called the next day to work out a time that was best for me and he came out the following week ( i was going out of town for the weekend so couldn't get it done on Friday).

One thing to note with NBD - they don't have to do the repair at the place that your laptop was shipped. You can have the service done at work, dorm room, probably even a friend/relative's house.

always been good to me, the tech that repairs our computers is outsourced by dell. He always does exactly what dell asks him to do, and that is fine.

Actually, I do on-site repairs myself. I work for Qualxserv which is one of 3 companies that Dell outsources here in the USA for service. They send us the parts via DHL and we come to you usually the next day to get things going.

Myself, I have a tech shop and do the Dell work on the side so I give customers an option of dropping the PC off or having me come out depending on there schedule. Not all the techs that work for Dell are as efficient as me but usually you get someone who knows what they are doing.

    Good luck!
