    OK Guys

Who ever ordered a Penryn XPS M1530 I have just spoken to a agent in the UK and he says, becuase the cat got let out of the bag that it will be almost a month for delivery.

But from what I have seen on test result from Media encoding and battery life and also, no lead, and runs 50 watts cooler you are saving the enviroment and is going to be a wicked processor.

My mate have got the new mac and he says you can see the difference encoding and battery life. and the laptop is cool as..

    So here we wait.

Are you making up numbers there? The TDP of both the Penryn and Merom-2M Core 2 Duos are around 35 W.

35 - 50 = -15. In which case if that was true, screw saving the environment, we just found an infinite source of energy.

I've just re-ordered a 1530 with a t9300 (12th Mar), the guy said pretty much the same to me about the delay (9th April).

Has anyone actually got a penryn xps in the uk yet?

I ordered an M1530 with a T8300 on the 5th or 6th and it's just gone to Phase: 4. Delivery Preparation. The original estimated date was 02/04/08.

The lady from dell phoned me today and wanted to conf card details and that all was ok. she then said delivery company would phone me in 5-7 days to conf delivery date, but they could phone and say april. who knows

Also when I said about the wattage, I meant the computer uses 50w less electricy than a normal laptop, so better on the household bills.

What? Laptops generally use around 20 - 45 watts. Under your logic, your laptop will take no power at all... 45 - 50 = -5 watts. That number makes no sense.

I hope you are not basing your info on what a dell sales agent is telling you.. Generally thats a bad source for technical info.
