Has anyone experienced the same problem and solved it I wonder?

I own a Dell Inspiron N5110. The problem that I am experiencing (apart from the overheating etc) is that every minute (exactly, I've timed it) I get kicked out of a full-screen application back to the desktop. I have done everything, downloaded the new bios update, run half a dozen spy/malware scans, downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers etc. The only thing I haven't done is sacrifice a goat.

I strongly suspect that some or other program is checking for an update.

    Any advice?

    Thanks in advance

    Fille
