I Did Something I Never Thought I Would Do

I bought a studio 15 today online :/

Came out to $599 with shipping.

I went from a Sager 5796 to THIS. Not sure if i just felt impulsive for a moment or if it was a good idea.

I still cant believe I bought a consumer/home dell (I love there business line).

Did I get it for a good price :/

 

How did you manage to get that for $599? That is an extremely good price.

 

Searching Dell Outlet for about an 1 1/2 hours trying to find the best deal + 20% coupon. The way I see it, if the refurb is in NEW condition I will just return it

 

Oh a coupon would have definitely helped me. My Outlet Studio 15 doesn't even have the refurbed sticker on it. Congrats, you got an excellent deal.

I used all 3 of my free periods looking through each listing and FINALLY found 1..only 1... listing with an LED screen under like $760...

I always hated the design on the wrist rest/ touchpad but I will deal with it.

The thing is pretty sturdy feeling.

How do you like it?? hows the LED screen of yours. Did you get a AOC or an LG

 

I really like mine. My LED is an LG, so it is very nice. The first one I got from the Outlet had a bad screen which wouldn't brighten no matter what, but this one is fine. It's one of the better laptops I've owned this year.

 

^^ Very Good to hear... i am excited for it to come. Do you know which 250 GB 5400 RPM drive Dell ships with the studio? Seagate? Hitachi? WD?

 

I got a Western Digital hard drive. It is a probably a toss up since they go through so many hard drives.

And yeah they do offer some truly GREAT deals. Especially when you combine with a coupon like I did. I parted it out and it comes out to roughly 1.1k. So I saved a bunch!

Now i just need to figure out how to get the XP drivers

how do you find out what kind of display you have (Lg vs AOC)

if my packing slips says lg....does that mean it is lg?

go to Device Manager > monitor > right click > properties > details tab > select hardware ID and you should see the code there...

 

It says LPLB80A --> does this mean LG??
